It’s Our Pleasure (IOP) is a multidisciplinary experience of Pleasure, Community, Diversity & Exploration. Set in the underground scene of the 1920’s, IOP is based on autobiographical stories of individuals who have hidden or compromised their identities to fit the status quo. These stories are as relevant today as they were then. Using three different platforms, Analogue (Letters & Telephone), Live Performance & Online, and inspired by empowerment, indulgence and blushes, IOP is an invitation to join an underground community.
The story of IOP is also inspired by Pleasure Activism (as coined by Adrienne M Brown). It is also influenced by my work with people who run pleasure workshops to make them accessible, and her work at The Neurological Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery & UCLH with people who have experienced trauma - exploring communications and pleasure.
